Race Thru the Redwoods is run entirely in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, California. The race starts near the main picnic area and runs one mile on paved roads followed by scenic trails next to meadows and the San Lorenzo River. The moderate to challenging course then rises approximately 300 feet in elevation between mile 2.5 and mile 3.5. Return is on downhill paved road and dirt trails with the finish near the starting line. Water/aid stations, mile markers.
All participants will receive a t–shirt and a free Pancake Breakfast at the Felton Volunteer Fire Department located at Kirby off Hwy 9 in downtown Felton. Electronic timing results immediately after race are provided by the Santa Cruz Track Club. During the awards ceremony prizes will be drawn for those present!
Proceeds from the race go to the Felton Business Association, San Lorenzo Valley High’s cross country program, local charities and the Felton California State Parks.
1-mile trail fun for ages 2-12
Make this a family day! For kids we have a one mile trail fun run for ages 2 - 12. Medals go to top 3 boys and girls in each age bracket: 2-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12

Take Hwy 17, exit at Mt. Herman Rd., Scotts Valley, go west 3.5 miles to Graham Hill Rd., then right ¼ mile to the light at Hwy 9 and turn left on Hwy 9. Travel .7 mile and enter Henry Cowell State Park. The start is at the main picnic area just to the right after passing the kiosk.
The race is in the Henry Cowell State Park picnic area. You can not drive to the race start via the Graham Hill Rd campground entrance. Parking
There will not be a park entrance fee charged for Race Thru The Redwoods participants. Parking in the main lot is only available to race participants who show proof of park entrance payment ($10 or Annual Park Pass).
Parking is limited. Carpool if possible or meet friends outside the park and drive in one vehicle. There is additional parking available at Roaring Camp off of Graham Hill Rd. until 11:00 am without charge. Overflow parking will be at the Pro Build parking lot. Both Roaring Camp and San Lorenzo parking are .7 mile form the start.
