Something's Wrong with This Wedding

    • Please read descriptions of events before attending.
Important information may be in the description.

      What are we doing?

      Tonight's prompt is:

    • Your best friend from college has invited you to his wedding. You haven’t seen him for years, so you’re excited to catch up. But when you arrive at the wedding, you discover that your best friend’s bride is someone from your past—and you realize you must stop the wedding at all costs.

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The prompts, themes, topics, and/or events are posted here on meetup.
Check the Seeking the muse meetup Calendar to see upcoming events.

During a meeting we have time to write and then time to share what we've written.

If you'd like to bring something that you have written before the group you are welcome to do so.

Time is limited, so if you have a long piece you want to share,
please break it up into smaller sections to read on different nights
so others have a chance to read during the meeting.

I provide a prompt or idea and the group has time to work on whatever it is that they decide to do. As always, if you do not want to write or create on the topics provided then you can use the free time to "do your own thing". Think of the prompts as optional.

You are welcome to just use the time and space for your own creative endeavors. This might be the perfect time for you to commit to spending time on an Open Studio/ Independent Study. If you want to share during the feedback portion of the group then you are encouraged to do so. If you do not wish to share, then you do not have to. We're all coming together to enjoy this time. So just kick back, relax, and have fun.

      What to Bring
Please remember to bring a notebook and a pen/pencil (or laptop and power cord).
A sense of humor and desire for fun are also a plus. smile

Donations to help offset the website fee to run this group are appreciated, but not mandatory.

      Where are we meeting?

We'll be meeting in the Community Room
at the Qdoba Mexican Restaurant in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Qdoba is located in the Ellisburg Circle Shopping Center
on Rt. 70 and Kings Highway.

      1630 North Kings Highway
      Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

It was okay. The people were nice, but I was looking for feedback and for people to critique my story. I didn't get that at all, so I'd rate this three out of five stars.

I am sorry that you didn't feel like you got what you wanted out of the meeting. This group is not listed as a critique group and that is not our main focus. If you had told the group that you wanted a critique I'm sure some people would have offered to do so. I hope that you find a group more suited to your writing needs.

Hey! I'll be joining if it's alright. I registered here awhile ago but never found enough time to attend this group. Hope to see you all. Seems like a fun time.

Hey hope you guys don't mind if I ask another question! You said we could bring in our own stories to be evaluated, but I can't decide which to bring in. I have two so far that I knocked it down to, so which would you like to hear? The one where kids are stranded on the Galapagos and have to survive natives, lava, etc? Or the one with werewolves? Thanks! :)

Well I'm going to have to read the story in intervals because of how long they are. The werewolf one is longer than the Galapagos one, but I was just wondering which one interested any of you?

The werewolf one appeals more to me, but it's close.

Is it okay that a friend joins me? I just told her now and she said she'd like to go. Is it okay?

Yes, you can edit your rsvp and add a +1 to show that you will be bringing a guest along. I look forward to meeting you both. =)
