Amit Garg: "My Experience with Selenium WebDriver at"

Welcome to our new location at LinkedIn!

We'll use the same format as always...

6:30: dinner and networking
7:00: announcements
7:10: speaker
9:00: lights out!

Selenium is an excellent tool for UI test automation and with time it's only getting better. We recently developed a regression test framework using Selenium WebDriver and TestNG. With this automation, we caught some bugs which were impossible to find in manual testing saving us both time and money. I will talk about the capabilities of Selenium we used, current state of the automation, different kinds of UI verifications we do (and how), our learning during the framework development and what more we plan to do in the future. I will also briefly talk about some other applications we developed using Selenium which are not used for testing but have been extremely useful for the team.

Amit Garg is a Software Development Engineer in Test at, a subsidiary of in Palo Alto. He works in the advertising team where he is involved in testing and writing UI test automation frameworks for projects like contextually relevant sponsored link ads, Mobile app ads framework, etc. He is also involved with the data analytics and user behavior study to optimize ads on the Amazon retail website. He has been in the IT industry for over 8 years starting with the Microsoft Bing Search team in Hyderabad, India. He can be reached via LinkedIn or Facebook
