Rocket Stove and "how to" escape being restrained

Hi all,

Been a bit hectic getting this class pulled together.  Eric is going to bring his rocket stove plus MUCH more.  This will be a good class to learn about different types of stoves, heat, cooking sources.  He promises to bring all kinds of cool stuff :)

We will also be having a class on how to escape being subdued or restrained.  (In case of alien abduction :)  We will have a handcuff escape lesson with a "teaching" handcuff.  How to escape zip ties, duct tape, etc.  This will be a hands on class.  You will have the ability to try or just observe.  Also, a few videos to go along with class and cool concealed gadgets to assist.

We will do a pot luck, so please bring munchies if you plan on eating others treats.

Hope to see you there :)

Sandy

Thanks, Eric. I've been interested in rocket stoves for awhile & you managed to answer several questions I didn't even know I wanted to ask. And thanks, Sandy, for organizing this, and for suffering a bit to further our education. I'm bad with names, so please remind me -- with whom did you present on escaping restraints?

Hello, I haven't had a chance to comment before now much. but feel that Sandy and Rick did an excellent job in their presentation and should have instilled confidence in those present to be at least able to TRY to get out with a satisfactory chance of success.

Good times. Eric is a tinkering fiend, loved seeing info and results from someone who obsessively experiments with this stuff. That's how learnin' happens. Enjoyed the escape class too. Hey and who brought the tacquitos? Those were great :)

Hello, really enjoyed the opportunity to "showcase" my obsessive side!!!! Perhaps we could establish how others could build stoves, etc. Really looking forward to the Swap meet.....I have much to haul in!!!!!

Sorry I came in so late Sunday, just as I was about to RSVP and head to the meeting a friend came to my door, and 1 1/2 hours later I finally got free. Looking forward to the solar meeting next time. I can bring my Schwinn electric scooter and photos of the PV system I use to keep it charged, as well as run a few other things.

What's the prospects for weather look like in that area? Do you usually get hit hard when storms come through? Because I really, really want to come to this but I'm driving a borrowed car and I don't want to be responsible for hail damage on it.

Is this event kid appropriate? My 12 year old might be interested in attending with me.

Hello, really excited to bring projects and ideas that we all can use. Much is hoped to stir imaginations and to instill a different way of seeing everything as having a possible re-use or a different way of thinking!!! And the postponement gives me more time!!!!!

PS, this is NOT a how to escape police or arrest class so please do not post those messages :) Thank you!
