Subject: [SWSMG] Workshop planning - Need input

Good afternoon (and happy Father’s Day to those qualifying!),

Starting a process here to design, produce, schedule and deliver workshops (Camps) covering tools, skills, strategies and knowledge across the stack of the Semantic Web. These are initially to be held in our region and then distributed across the Semantic Web Meetup Alliance. The goal is both for enablement and recruitment of folks to the infrastructure that is even now in drastic need of qualified workers, and is growing as we prepare for industry offerings in the maturing of our field.

I am looking for not only experts, but those with the uncanny ability to make SW consumable – relatable across a diverse audience of participants. I have been in training and knowledge transfer for most of my life (especially in IT) and will bring my expertise to bear, and also, my time to lead some of these workshops. I am also looking for interests – what do our members want (and need) to learn to prepare and provide a vetted offering to clients and organizations?

This year’s offering will grow, mature and circle round to eventually provide for both Pre and Post-SemTech (and related) Conference Sessions this coming year (2010) through the Semantic Web Meetup Alliance. I extend to you the invitation to invest yourself in something not only highly valuable, but enjoyable. Please let me know soon so that I can start putting together teams and offerings!
