Our first program of the season will take us to Enterprise, Florida. The valuable piece of Greenspace here almost became high-density development but local folks rallied a coalition and put the brakes on it. Sandy Walters, a "normal person" turned environmental activist, will use a power point presentation to tell us how ordinary people took on government and saved this cultural and environmental jewel from the bull dozer. The following week, on September 21st, we will take a walking tour through Thornby, now a moss-covered bird and wildlife sanctuary.
Meetings are free and open to the public. Refreshments and door prize.
