Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge

Merritt Island NWR is popular with birders from all over the world.  The cooler months of January and February are usually best birding.  Thousands of migratory birds use the Refuge to rest and loaf during the winter.  This is one of our most popular field trips.  We will travel on Black Point Drive where most of the viewing is done from cars.  Dress accordingly; the birds do.

Time: 8:00 am. Carpool from Sanford library or meet at the Refuge Visitor Center at 8:45.

Cost: Entrance fee is $5.00 per car.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
