Lets do Colgan Creek Trail again

This trail is pretty close to the corner of Todd and Stony Point Roads. The trailhead starts just past the restaurant on Stony Point Road and there is pretty good parking along the road there.

Let's give the other side of the trail a shot this time. I have not been here before so have no idea where it goes or how long it is.

Dogs are welcome on this hike but please do keep them on a short leash.

As always please do not rsvp if you do not plan to attend.

If anyone is interested we will probably go have dinner someplace afterwards.

I did my homework as I said I would. Elsie Allen High School was named for Elsie Comanche Allen [masked]). She was a Pomo basket weaver and lived in several Pomo communities including Cloverdale, Hopland and Pinoleville Rancherias. She was regarded as one of the three best known California basketweavers of her generation.

Thanks, Dianne. I wonder if she used those tule reeds we saw at Foothill Regional park!

I bet she used them for something!

Hey, Peggy...even though I like your new "color" of your hands, try this: "How do I remove walnut hull stains from skin? You may need to use a bleach and water mixture. Hand creams may also work since they mix with your natural skin oils. The oils "push" the discoloration off the skin." Let us know what works...good luck!

A nice group of 8: Peggy, Rita with dog Calvin, Elchanan, Susie & David, Bruce, Rob and me. Thanks to Peggy for printing out a map and doing a little investigating across the street (closed) before we started out.

Good little Hike thru the Santa Rosa Farmlands. I think I would prefer to shake Calvin's Paws rather than shaking Peggy"s Walnut Juice stained Hands. Lol.

Nice a little trail in southern Santa Rosa. Great people (and Calvin!). Looks like the trail continues on next to the road for a short period, and then goes inland 20 to 30 feet, so you are not right next to traffic. Does not appear to be anything to remove black walnut juice stains from my hands, LOL!

Susie, would you and David like a ride tonight? It's not as far as Foothill, so we could probably leave about 5:45pm. Let me know.

Okay. I'll let you drive this time. I know an easy back road. Since we need to be there by 6:00, maybe 5:40 would be better. It takes 10 minutes to get there, if no traffic. Should I meet you in the lobby or out front? Thanks.
