We will meet at Crissy Field’s East Beach Parking area and walk the trails to the Golden Gate Bridge (approximately 1 to 2 miles, mostly flat with some uphill to reach the bridge). The bridge itself is about 3 miles round trip.
More details: from Crissy Field, walk west along the Bay Trail. At the end of the Promenade, under the south anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge is Fort Point. The trail to the bridge is opposite the U.S. Park Service administrative office for Fort Point. A sign points to the bridge and to Fort Point, and a stairway leads up to a series of paths and to the bridge. The walk on the actual Golden Gate Bridge can be bone-chilling so be sure to dress in layers.

Once we return from Crissy Field we will have a snack (food is also available at the Beach Hut Café). If we hit high tide correctly, there are some pipe organs that we may check out, or people can choose to look at the tidal marshes, see more of Fort Point, get a close up of the 8 large steel sculptures (on display until May 2014), or check out anything else of interest.
Note: No dogs are allowed on the Bridge, although they are welcome in Crissy Park.
Traveling South on Hwy 101 from Marin:
Drive south across the Golden Gate Bridge. Immediately past the toll plaza, take the exit toward 25th Ave and turn right onto Merchant Road. Drive 0.2 mile, then turn left onto Lincoln Blvd. Drive about 1 mile, then turn left onto McDowell Ave. Drive 0.2 mile, then turn right onto Mason Street. Continue about 1 mile, then turn left into the East Beach entrance.
SANTA ROSA: meet at the S.R. Target Parking lot (the west end which is closest to BevMo for an 8:50 a.m. departure.
ROHNERT PARK: Southbound Park and Ride (off Rohnert Park Expressway) will leave at 9:05 a.m
Lastly: Please note that since I have not been to Crissy Field or walked the bridge (although others in the group may have done so), this may be a bit exploratory in nature.
