Howarth Park and Spring Lake Loop

Join us for another walk around Spring Lake, starting at Howarth Park. Lots of beautiful birds and nice lake views.

We'll meet at the upper parking lot of Howarth Park. According to this map, the walk is 3.7 miles, but it seems less. A little bit of a hill going over to spring lake, then level around the lake and back. I might take the Spring Lake Horse Loop this time, which is a little longer, but there will probably be some that do the paved lake loop. Something for everyone.

Nice walk as always....Groups split up to go different ways - Dale & I tried to keep up with our 'group', but we got left in the dust before long, lol....We got a teeny bit turned around after we came out of the trail by the lake but thankfully figured it out without too much ado...

Oh dear, hope you enjoyed it anyway. I think my group that did the dirt/gravel trails went a little slower. Nice walk.

What a great spot for a hike, but I was disappointed to miss doing it with this group. I think I was at the upper lot trailhead at 11:01 & I waited about 5 minutes. I don't know if maybe I should have waited longer? Maybe next time...

I will keep that in mind. Perhaps new hikers should be given more specific info about the Meetup spot, including a phone #. Being brand new to Santa Rosa & the park, it did take a little more time to find my way there.

Yep, I agree. I'll make it clearer in next post.

I have come down with a sore throat and started sneezing tonight, so unless there is divine intervention during the night I better cancel.
I hope the day goes well.

So sorry to cancel at last minute----I'll keep trying, this is a great hike and I hate to miss it and all you lovely walkers.

Let's go on the dirt trails again—it is, to me, so much more beautiful.

I'm going to bring a picnic lunch for after the walk if anyone would like to join me and a friend. I'm bringing manderins and carrots cookies to share.
