SWAG kind of has it's beginnings in the Regional Parks wildflower walks back in the spring of 2012. It's great to see they are back again. At the time they gave our group an introduction to all the great regional parks Sonoma County has to offer. So far I'm only posting their 1st one on the calendar - Native Magic. Anyone is free to post others that strike their fancy.
From the park newsletter: Our spring wildflower walks begin March 22 and run weekly through May 3. These free walks are led by Master Gardener Phil Dean, who says the dry weather creates a new perspective for plant sightings. "You'll see things you've never before seen. I can't predict exactly what but you'll notice different plants, and I encourage you to get out and see them," This walk starts at 10 a.m., lasts about two hours, and has an easy pace. Also new this year will be themed content, with Phil sharing stories relevant to the plants in each park.
I'll post carpooling spots two weeks out. We can also talk about having a picnic lunch right there afterwards. We have sometimes kept it loose with people bringing their own lunch versus a potluck.
