This will be a very strenuous hike with steep elevation gains up Hood Mountain and will last five or six hours.
Parking is $7 or free for Regional Parks members. Heavy rain cancels. Be sure to bring a full water bottle, a snack, and wear sturdy shoes. Meet in the parking lot at the bottom of the Los Alamos Road entrance for a prompt 8 a.m. departure.
