Foothill Regional Park consists of 211 acres. There are three small ponds on the property, which can be used for fishing. Bass and bluegill are usually caught in the ponds. The park offers outstanding vistas and a unique outdoor experience within easy access from Windsor.
The park is made up of natural, multi-use trails for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding. Restrooms and drinking water are only available at the parking lot trailhead. Be sure to bring plenty of water with you. We will be doing the perimeter trails which does mean some elevation gain (looks like it may be about 400', but no guarantee on that) and approximately 2.6 miles. Some weeks we will go clockwise, and other weeks counter-clockwise. The trails are: Westside, Oakwood, Meadow, and Three Lakes. These hikes should take 1 to 1.5 hours to complete, depending on the speed of the group. This is a great way to incorporate a few smaller hills into your hiking regime.
Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a short leash out of consideration for other hikers and bicyclists.
Sonoma County Parks requires an annual parking pass or $7.00 parking fee to park in the lot. NOTE if you do not have a parking pass, there is plenty of free street parking available.
