Yes, it’s early…hopefully it will be a bit cooler for us – plus leaves time for other things that day.
We will meet at the north parking lot. Directions: From Hwy 12 entering Sebastopol turn right on Morris Street. Go all the way past the Community center (on the right) and the North Parking lot will be at the end of the road just past the Community Center.
We will start by going up the Eddy Aho Trail (also shown as Cattail Bend and Gail Alley) then back down until we reach what is listed on one map as Laguna Vista. We will make our way down until we reach the pontoon bridge which we will cross. From there we will meet up with the LagunaKeeper Trail. At that point we can decide if we want to go north or south both of which will take us around the main portion of the Laguna.
We will find ourselves back at the pontoon bridge which we will have to cross again and this time we will go south around the baseball fields and park.
This is a very easy walk with the first and last portions being mostly shaded.
NOTE: I do not know the mileage as I have not done this before. Nor do I know how long it will take us but I would presume about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Following this, there is a nice coffee shop, Taylor Maid Farms, located at 6790 McKinley Street, in the Barlow Center right down the street if anyone would be interested.
Here is a map of the first area…however the trail names are different than what is on Google Maps. If you want to see it on google just type in “Sebastopol Community Center, Morris Street, Sebastopol, CA” and then change to satellite view. You can then see the different trails. This is another map for the main Laguna hikes that we have done in the past (which in my mind leaves much to be desired!). Again Google maps put in satellite mode works best.
Dog are allowed, however we do request they stay on a short leash out of consideration of others.
