COME! Be a charter member of the first Serious SecondLife Meetup anywhere in the world!

At this first meeting, we will spend time discussing objectives and logistics for the group. But first, we will have fun exploring SecondLife. Come prepared to demo something that you have done or that you admire, as a serious SL application.

The meeting is mostly hands-on workshop. So, bring your laptops (or desktops if easily transported). We have an open WiFi and video projector. Bring an extra power cord and video cable if you can. Prior to coming, check out your equipment with SecondLife. And, show up early to setup so that we can start the meeting at 6:00pm. We have access to the classroom from 5:30 to 8:00pm.

We are meeting in the RogueWave building at the SE corner of 55th and Flatirons Parkway, across from the Humane Society. Enter the building on the south side. Look for our Serious SL sign. The classroom is located on the ground level in the SW corner of the building.

We will have refreshments. There is a sink and microwave available. Bring your dinner if you like.

Who attended?

  • 22 attendees
    •  One small step for my avatar, one giant leap in real life networking!
    •  Excellent organization, lots of energy, good networking considereing the demand, etc.
    •  The introductions, though time-consuming, were necessary. Was very cool to have 'net access so folks could be in SL during meeting; even though not much was done there, just seeing peoples' avatars was interesting. Also having the opportunity to go check out things as they were mentioned in the meeting. A good start. More tours, show-and-tell, tutorials would obviously be good in meetings henceforth (not a criticism of the first meeting!).
    •  Start of something awesome!
    •  A stunning turnout, and clearly could have gone on for hours, lots of stuff to talk about. I give it a YaY+++
    •  Very diverse backgrounds, all with a common goal. It was fun!
