CANCELED... SORRY... We could not get the logistics together. But realize that OpenSim is critical to the future of SL and to global virtual worlds. We will cover OpenSim developments this year. Any volunteers for developing this topic?
------------------------
We are venturing outside of Second Life this month, to the emerging worlds of OpenSim. Our guides are: Kyle Gomboy (SL: G2 Proto) and Robin Gomboy (SL: RobinG2). They will educate us on why OpenSim complements SL and how to bring up your own OpenSim region, right there in your home or office. You will love it! Think Woodstock... :)
Details to follow...

SL Landing Point: We are landing in a private region of OpenSim operated by Reaction. More details to follow....
RL Landing Point: Classroom 104 at the Atlas Institute on the University of Colorado campus. The class is on the same floor as the lobby down the hallway to the left. A map is at... http://www.colorado.e... and the floorplan is at... http://www.colorado.e...
Park in the Euclid AutoPark next to the UMC (student center), which is very close to Atlas. After 5:00 parking is $3 for the entire evening. Vic's Coffee Shop in the Atlas lobby is open until 6:00. Afterward, we may stop by a nearby pub (BeauJo's, Dark Horse or Southern Sun) to ponder the evening's issues.
There is excellent WiFi with a guest CU login. Our 'smart' classroom has movable small tables with hookups to four projectors/LCDs, so there are several SL activities going on simultaneously. Bring your laptop and a long video cable, and setup before 6:00.
