Kadampa Meditation Center Boston offers an wide program of meditation classes, study programs, and retreats. The methods and practices taught at the center are suitable for all individuals, whatever your level of interest. By following Buddha’s special advice, we can relax our mind, dissolve our pain and fear, and become of greater benefit to others.
A typical class consists of a gentle relaxation meditation, teaching, discussion, and a concluding meditation. The meditations are guided and are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Each class is self-contained so feel free to join at any time!
Our Resident Teacher is Gen Kelsang Khedrub, a Buddhist monk for over 25 years, who has taught around the USA since 1997.
We offer ongoing meditation classes in Cambridge, Back Bay, Newton, and Portland, ME. In addition we also hold retreats, day workshops, and special events, all of which are open to everyone regardless of background or experience.

Gen Kelsang Khedrub is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. He has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 30 years. Gen Khedrub has served as a Resident Teacher in Chicago and in Seattle, and over the years he has taught special events and led meditation retreats around the country. Meditation is simple and anyone can do it. A regular practice of meditation enables us to enjoy a break from our normal distractions and worries and see even the most challenging of circumstances in a new light.
During this two part class Gen Khedrub will explain how to start or recharge an at-home practice, and will share ancient Buddhist tools for improving and sustaining a healthy meditation habit that works for you. Everyone, regardless of previous meditation experience, is welcome to join.
Location: This event is offered via Newton Community Education and registration is required directly via NCE (details below). It will be held at Newton South High School.

Buddhist Ritual 101 - a meditation workshop
Saturday, May 4 - 10:00am to 12:30pmCurious about what is in the shrine? Ever wondered about how to use a mala, or what mantras are all about? This dynamic workshop with Gen Khedrub will explain the basics of several Buddhist rituals and symbols, and is an excellent opportunity to ask any questions.
This workshop will explain how to start a daily meditation practice, how to prepare our meditation room, how to set up a shrine, how to prepare for meditation, and the basic prayers and meditations used in Kadampa Buddhism.

Nini Rodriguez is a sincere practitioner who first encountered Buddha's teachings at our World Peace Temple in Glen Spey, NY many years ago. Nini’s teachings are known to be joyful and accessible. She focuses mainly on how to apply Buddha’s practical wisdom in our daily activities so spiritual practice and daily life can be fully integrated. A native of Margarita Island, Venezuela and with a background of business, accounting and finance, Nini is particularly keen on helping to integrate meditation in people's busy lives, while dealing with work, school and family stress.

Our mind has limitless potential. But we can easily find ourself stuck in repetitive ways of thinking and behaving. Buddha taught many gentle methods to help us transform our mind and break free from old habits.
This Tuesday evening meditation class will take a practical look at Buddha’s wisdom teachings and how it can be applied to our modern life.
