Help Build a Soup Kitchen - work day #2

Special Project Alert!!  Forest Avenue is a homeless shelter that serves women and children.  They're trying to renovate some areas of their building for a soup kitchen as well as other projects.  The kitchen could potentially feed 50+ on a daily basis.  They will have a lunch service for the homeless in the area as well as increase dinner service offerings.  It will be called the Bread of Life Kitchen.  You can find out more about Forest Avenue at

On this work day Ron (our master electrician) will be leading a team to do the wiring of the soup kitchen.  All of the wiring will be done using surface mount boxes and conduit.  Ron is looking for 2 helpers to assist him with this part of the project.  There will be a new subpanel installed in the kitchen as well as new outlets and lights for two rooms.

Also, Danny will be leading a crew to continue with the construction work that was started on the first day.  His crew will be building the wall for the bathroom hall and fixing the plaster on the other walls.

The work will probably last most of the day.  You should be comfortable working with power tools for this work.

Thanks for considering this opportunity to Serve Kansas City!

I with Cathie :-) i'm not skilled in eletrical work & I can cancel if you just need skilled workers. My daughter & I both was there on the 1st day of work & want to continue to help, but we also don't need to get in your way of progress. Please let us know if we should cancel.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
