Lawrence Davidson just sent me this Seth quote from one of Jane's early ESP classes.
Seth often states that time is not as rigid as we usually think it is, and in this magnificent quote he gives a profound example of that:
"The point of power is in the present, it is not in the past. Your point of being is joyfully NOW. Your point of power is in the present, and from this present point, as you understand it, you structure your past and your future. You affect your past through what you think now. You can make your past a time of tragedy and disillusion that reinforces a present state of powerlessness by bringing up into your memory all of those events that caused you pain or, from this present, you can make your past a time of joy and creativity by remembering in your terms, in this present, those periods of peace and exaltation and joy that existed in what you think of as the past. You form your past and your future in this present moment of your own knowing and your own being." Seth- ESP class 01/03/74 Peace, Lawrence
Lawrence was a friend of Jane and Rob, as one of the "New York Boys" who drove five hours from New York to Elmira on Tuesday nights to attend. Today he is the organizer of the California Seth Conference, which is held in the Bay area in March every year.
Did you read Jane Roberts' Seth Speaks or The Nature of Personal Reality and love it? I did too. I loved the people in our Seth readers' group in Portland, and when I moved away I missed them so much that I decided to form a new one here in Lakeway near Austin. I know there were many people associated with Dr. Maude Cardwell's Austin Seth Center at one time, and I would like to find you!
The Seth Material adds a fascinating dimension to understanding our physical and non-physical reality. Seth says “Consciousness creates form. It is not the other way around. It is only because you are so busily concerned with daily matters that you do not realize that there is a portion of you who knows that its own powers are far superior to those shown by the ordinary self.” - Seth Speaks (Session 511, January 21, 1970)
The two Seth Readers meetups each month are for those who have already read some Seth books. If you haven't read any of Seth and Jane Roberts' books yet, please read a couple of them before attending. Seth is not easy to explain, and reading the books is the best way to get acquainted with the basics of his ideas.
If you haven't yet read at least a couple of the Jane Roberts Seth books, then you are invited to the monthly group called "Intro to Seth." There we are working on Seth's first (and some say most important) book, "Seth Speaks."
Previous Seth readers are invited to the meetup on the second Thursday. There is no charge. Please bring your copy of The Nature of Personal Reality, if you have one. Answer the questions here, and I'll invite you to the meeting location.
I have posted some files full of excellent Seth quotes on various topics and also summaries of all of Jane's books. To see them click on the "More" tab at the top of this page, then click on "Files".
