Re: [Seth-Readers-Group] Last night's meetup

Dear Jenny,

I think I could do at least one Saturday evening a month.  I am willing to at least try two per month.  However, some Sundays I have to rise early in order to get to church by 7:30 am for the 8am service (choir and men's ensemble singing).  It doesn't happen very often, but I would probably have to miss the Saturday meeting if the next day is one of those early days.  I am willing to give it a shot, though.  Count me in!

What a great discussion we had last night! We had eleven attendees, including four new people who brought more insight and points of view to the conversation. As we read the fascinating chapter 11 about Afterlife Choices and the Mechanics of Transition, we grappled with the difficult concept of whether evil exists independently of us, or whether (as Seth tells us) it is our belief in evil that makes it part of our reality. On page 161 Seth says that evil is simply ignorance, and on pages 162-3 he gives more explanation on living life without believing in evil. He recognizes that this is almost impossible for us to understand, that it outrages the intellect, and the evidence of your physical senses may shout that it is untrue. Even those of us who give Seth the benefit of the doubt on this one still lock our doors!

I loved the discussion. Maybe we'll never agree, but the variety of opinions helps us all examine our deeply-held beliefs. Thank you all for coming!

Heres the new link to the online index I mentioned. To find where Seth talks about the subject of evil or anything else, check this website:

One more thing: Saturday night seemed to work very well. Do you think we should consider changing our regular meetup to the second and fourth Saturdays?

"I wish you all a fond good evening."
