Two of DC's finest hit the stage to bring you an interactive showcase of poetry, music, and other ish that's cool like that!

Who are these poets anyway?!


Drew Anderson aka "Droopy the Broke Baller" 
"People call him the black Weird Al Yankovic, but I think Weird Al Yankovic is the white Droopy the Broke Baller." - @DrewLawDMV. He be the slash (/) man. Not slash as in "half", but indeed he is a "cut-up". Entertainer/educator. Poet/emcee. Filmmaker/actor. Comic/tragic. Adored/ignored. Good lover/bad boyfriend. Selfless/self-absorbed. His words provoke laughter/thought, and just when you think you've got him all figured out, he'll present a whole new side/front. All that he promises is that the investigation will be ever worth the effort. He be Drew Anderson/Droopy the Broke Baller. Be forewarned/excited.

Dwayne B
Dwayne Lawson-Brown always has a hard time writing bios. The 29 year old SouthEast DC native finds inspiration in the community he serves, his family history, and the ever evolving realm of relationships. He’s the co-host of the NUSPA award winning poetry venue “Spit Dat” with Droopy the BrokeBaller. 

Dwayne is also a fashion designer making a splash with his Crochet Kingpin line of scarves and accessories, His work has earned him articles in the DC Examiner, The Washington Post, as well as segments on WETA and BBCAmerica, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s “Emerging Leaders Award.
