"Enter via the white side door on the driveway between the church and the hall - we will be in the room to the left as you enter. Park on the grass area behind the hall, leaving the driveway clear."

This meetup will be the first of our bi-monthly practical meetups where we will get together to craft, sew, read, chat - whatever you would like to do!

To kick things off, Caroline will be showing us how to make adorable sock toys. Please bring along the following materials:


  • 1 x pair of stripy socks for a zebra, or whatever socks you fancy if you'd rather make a cat or teddy bear. Caroline used little girls' socks for the cuteness and size - bigger socks will mean a bigger teddy!

  • Toy stuffing (if you don't have any and would like to try to make them before buying, I have a big bag of stuffing you can use)
  • Pins, needles and thread to match the socks
  • Threads for embroidery or buttons/beads for features - eyes, noses, mouths, general adornements...
  • Scissors

I will also bring along the Rotary shoeboxes so that you can fill these. It will be up to you whether you want to gather the contents in advance or take them away with you until the next meeting. The details of what can be put in the boxes are posted here. If we have time, we can decorate the boxes so please feel free to bring along any felt tip pens!
