Sewing machine familiarisation and/or own projects.

As a result of our planning last week we are going to try a later start time, a longer session and more time for eating on the veranda. If you can't make the full 4 hours do drop by for the times you can manage.

I can do spot demonstrations, using my machines but many members felt they would like to bring their own machines. Please make any special requests at least 48 hours before the event in case I need to source materials (Thursday is my scrap-store day).

Some have asked for help with hand-stitchng, machine skills, quilting and making patterns. I'm sure between us we can manage that.

It was lovely that some members brought sharing food, let me know if you want to do that again. I can provide beverages and will include squash next time as well.

As the hall booking is for 4 hours, depending on numbers I may need to charge a little over £5.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and having more time to look at others' projects.

Queen Bees were very industrious today. Lots of patches joined, mice made, sewing-machine envy, bravery for those who hadn't used a sewing machine before, knowledge shared and chat and laughter of course. Thank you to those who attended.

OK Elaine I understand I had to manage post vital syndrome in the past. Take care and hopefully you will be able to make the next one.

Jill. I have caught a fluish cold, and at the moment have a sore throat, lost my voice and have a hacking cough. The way I feel I'd better cancel coming on Saturday. Don't want to spread it about - and feel rough.

Really sorry to hear that Lyn. I had a similar thing back in January and went back to work too soon, so learn from my mistake and get some serious TLC. Hopefully see you 21st June.

26 Queen Bees and that's my lucky number, the sun is out and everything seems fine in the world. Have a good week everyone. Looking forward to meeting you on Saturday, some for the first time and others again. It looks like we could be on the Terrace again.

i can bring an extra sewing machine which I'm hoping to pass on to anyone who needs it. It was a cheap one from Dunelm but fine for small projects.

Can I bring my overlocker. Need to know how to use it. I bought it a few years ago from the Knitting and Stitching Show, Harrogate and am scared of it!!! I can also bring my sewing machine. Don't have any sewing projects on the go yet but this group will inspire me to get going again.

Welcome to the group Lynne. It's lovely that we are thriving and gaining numbers. You can bring your overlocker but to manage numbers etc we are going to focus on sewing machines on the 24th May. We could focus on Overlockers on another occasion or you could book an hours 1:1 tuition with me at another time. Still bring it on Saturday though because it will be useful to know what make and model. Looking forward to meeting you and your machines. Jill.
