Since we started late 2012, we've expanded our reach to members from the East Bay and Peninsula areas. Our members range from novice to advanced sewists. Some have even taught a class or two in the past and generously share their knowledge at our sewing intensives.
This group is for anyone interested in: clothing construction, tailoring, fashion design, quilting, and a broad range of textile arts and stitching crafts. Our members love getting together to sew, share ideas, and make new friends.
Any member can host a sewing meetup whether it be at their home or another sponsored location. Since our membership covers more than a couple of counties...we hope you will use this Meetup group as your central organizing "hub" for all textile-related activities. Feel free to post related events sponsored by other organizations. Please check out some of our past events to give you ideas.
Please like us on FACEBOOK, join our Google Plus Community to get access to a larger community of sewists. Get your sewing questions answered, and post or share your work with us using our other social media networks.
SOME BASIC HOUSE GUIDELINES
Not all the events will be free, but all fees will be at cost. We do not require membership fees, but we do accept cash donations at the FREE events. A donation jar is available at sign-in. These donations are used to pay for organizational maintenance fees. Please be as generous as you can.
Please note that basic etiquette is expected of our members here at Sewing On My Kitchen Table. If a member has RSVP'd for an event, then the member should show up. However, we understand that life happens, so please cancel at least three days in advance.
A FREE event requires time from hosts to organize. Members who habitually fail to show up after an RSVP will eventually be placed on the waiting list for future Meetups. We take roll, and last-minute cancellations are considered "no shows."
