Shades of Brown book club was founded by two women new to the Denver area. The book club is open to African American sistahs who not only enjoy and appreciate Black literature, but also understand its value and importance to our Community. We will meet once a month, excluding December, to dine and discuss our monthly selection. Our primary focus will be African-American authors but also authors throughout the African Diaspora. We also see the group as one that gives back to the community - participating in literacy programs, supporting Black businesses when possible and other art forms (movies, theater, cultural events).
