We meet every third Saturday evening of the month (usually) to read one of Shakespeare's plays aloud. People who like Shakespeare's work and want to learn more about it are welcome to join. No acting experience is necessary.

When the RSVPs are in for a particular reading, I post a tentative cast list, usually two to three weeks beforehand. Those who RSVP after the casting deadline may attend the meeting, but will be admitted on a standby basis: as space permits, and as availability of roles may change. In most cases, members will be cast in more than one role, a practice known as "doubling." The play may be cut slightly, depending on its length and other variables. Over a three-year period, we hope to read all thirty-six plays.

When local productions look promising, we will arrange to attend as a group. If good videorecordings or filmed adaptations are available, we will offer a Movie Meetup to see them.

While reading the plays is always rewarding, seeing them performed is the way Shakespeare intended it to be.
