Why are you interested in shamanic wisdoms?

I have been a spiritual seeker my entire life, and shamanism speaks to a deep need within me for connection to the Earth and all of her beings.

Have you had much experience with shamanic ritual or ceremony?

I worked for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies in an administrative capacity, but was gifted with learning the journeying method taught by Michael Harner and I have practiced this method for many years on my own.

Do you put your physical , emotional or spiritual wellbeing in other peoples hands or do you take responsibility for yourself?

As a rule I do my own work, but I also have a strong community of like-minded people that I am a part of and so at times I turn to them for assistance with any thing that I find myself too closely entangled with - an outside perspective and someone else's gifts are welcome in these situations.

What do you think happens when you die?

I have no idea what happens when we die - and I like the mystery of not knowing and feel that this is the natural order of things. I have a very analytical mind and I appreciate the process of scientific thought - but I feel that at some point it is important to let go of specificity and "answers", and that spirit flows and is more readily tangible for me when I do so. Generally speaking, I believe that we are souls inhabiting these bodies for a limited time, and that who we really are is something beyond human comprehension, and where we go after we leave this dimension of being is vast, limitless, and beautiful. Perhaps we reincarnate, perhaps there are lessons to be learned, perhaps there is karma being worked out....I do know that once we go beyond the veil we still have access to the lives here on earth, and that we stay in contact with those we love and care for.

Hello - My name is April and I am a student - soon to be graduate - of acupuncture and TCM. I have studied shamanism via Michael Harner and the FSS, and have an eclectic spiritual background and interests.
