Summer Solstice Celebration
Date: Saturday, June 21, 2014
Where: Limantour Beach, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, CA.
Time: gather at 10:00 a.m. (or before!) at the Limantour Beach parking lot. We will start hiking at 10:20, so don’t be late.
Parking: at the Limantour Beach parking lot (free, I believe).
What: we will be hiking on the beach, approximately one mile or less.
At the beach we will gather in circle to make a ritual Peruvian despacho offering to Mamacocha (Mother Ocean). We will then have a picnic lunch on the beach before returning. We should be back to the parking lot by around 2 PM.
Bring: hat, sunscreen, lunch, liquids, snacks, blankets, offerings for the despacho (please bring only natural and biodegradable items, including cornmeal, tobacco, flowers, shells, crystals, florida water, etc. This despacho will be released into the ocean!), sound makers and clothing appropriate to the weather. Wear good sturdy shoes, sneakers are fine.
Who: Everyone who can hike (or be carried) a mile & back is welcome to attend this ceremony! All ages welcome, no experience necessary.
Please: RSVP to Judy via email or phone [masked]) before Saturday, so we know you are coming. There is no cell phone reception at Pt. Reyes.
