Live music in Hong Kong: Ringo Deathstarr

Hi All!

A really cool band ( Ringo Deathstarr) will play next week, on Saturday night in Hong Kong ! If you don't know them, here's how the Organizer is decribing them: ' The band sounds like it leaped screaming out of My Bloody Valentine's blown amps’ WIRED

Ringo Deathstarr formed in 2007 in their native Austin, Texas channeling influences such as The Cure, The Smiths, Fugazi and The Velvet Underground.' So yeah, this gig is for all of you who love rock music!

Two bands will support them: 'The Yours' ( Hong Kong), and ' Broken Little sister' ( Japan).

The Yours is a pretty active band in the local indie scene and is definitely a band you have to see live if you re in Hong Kong.

The last thing I will add is about the venue: Backstage live is a really cool place, quite small... so you can be sure you'll be near the stage! As it's also a bar/restaurant, we can enjoy drinks there!  and it;s not too far from Wanchai where we can take the 24 hour cross border bus to go back to Shenzhen! ( 35-40 HKD, buses every 15/30 minutes to Shenzhen)

If you want to be sure to get in, you can buy tickets in advance here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/213875 One ticket costs: 250 HKD.

So let's do it, Shenzheners! let's have cool music and a fun saturday night in Hk!

It was really fun! I preferred 'The Yours', though.

Hey Michael, show was really nice. We actually liked the supporting band ( The Yours) better than Ringo deathstarr. Here's a vid of the gig: http://v.youku.com/v_... . Actually, a few cool bands will play in HK in the coming months: The XX, Coldcave, Mum, Wavves, Blur, Sigur Ros, Yatch.... I think I'll post another 'live music meetup in Hk' in the coming weeks. Join us next time! :)
