Putnam Trail in Van Cortlandt Park

Putnam Trail in Van Cortlandt Park

Come out and enjoy an easy nature walk through the Putnam Trail led by 3 naturalists, Rich Kelly, John Young and Andrew Baksh--leaders in the field of botany, ornithology, and entomology,  professional naturalists with much field experience in NYS parks. Learn about what incredible creatures share the trail and the surrounding woods with us.
Bring a bottle of water and your binoculars if you have a set.

Meet:  Blue bridge next to the lake and Golf House.

Directions:  The #1 train will not be running between 137th and 242nd streets this weekend. So take the A to the last stop, 207th St, and board the Broadway bus to 242nd St.  (The stops in between will be 215, 225, 231 and 238 Sts).  At 242nd get off and go into the park heading toward the mansion.  It's about 1/8th of a mile away and next to the parade grounds.  Go past it and tennis courts another 1/8th of a mile to the lake (ask anyone for directions).  The start site is right there on the blue bridge.

Leader: Margarita Eremeyev, email [masked]
