We will take a 6 mile walk around Flushing Meadows Corona Park, site of the 1939 and 1964 World Fairs, have lunch while enjoying the World's Fair Anniversary Festival and then tour the renovated Queens Museum of Art and see the Panorama of New York City and the Worlds Fair exhibit.
We will have lunch in the park, where there will be plenty of food vendors, but we will not be passing any actual stores along the way. Note the availability of Belgian Waffles! About 3 hours of walking, 1 hour for lunch then 1.5 hours in the museum, so done by 4:00 p.m.
"Come join the celebration of the 50th and 75th anniversaries of The World's Fair at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Activities will include tours of historic World’s Fair sites, a puppet show, inflatable rides, arts and crafts, face painting and more.
Enjoy cultural music and dance performances throughout the day followed by an evening concert. Different foods from around the world will be available including the return of the 1964 World's Fair Belgian Waffle."
Meet: Take the 7 train to the Mets-Willet Point stop and walk across the pedestrian bridge to the park, we will meet by the benches outside the rest rooms at the end of the pedestrian bridge.
