Sounds like a beautiful trip and if you re-schedule I will try to attend but not attending this time - I'm at end of the A train in Manhattan and it's terribly overcast as we get ready to feel the effects of the storm working its way up the east coast!

Also, if we still go ahead and do this, not sure if everyone knows that if you take the A train - there are actually 2 different trains - one will say going to Ozone Park, Lefferts Blvd not the one you want to be on - you need to be on the one going to JFK (check your train maps, can also be checked online) - if you get on the wrong train just remember that the last transfer point to the right one is a stop called Rockaway Blvd

not sure if anyone has been watching the weather report but just looked at a revised forecast and they are predicting thunderstorms till 2 pm - but I don't know that even they know what will really happen tomorrow - just food for thought

I share Janet's sentiments - I prefer to walk on the boardwalk and don't think I want to change into a bathing suit OR go into the water. Also - does anyone know if there are any FOOD (and beverage) stands or carts on - or very close to - the boardwalk?

    July 1, 2014

  • Janet

Is it possible to do the whole walk (3-4 mi) on the boardwalk. Does it extend that far?
