We're a very active group of very friendly, supportive, and passionate photographers with different levels of experience and a variety of cameras who love to take photos, learn and share with each other, socialize, and have a good time (great discussions & many laughs!) There are (2) membership levels:
BASIC MEMBER: An "observer. " Free to browse the website, but may not RSVP for online or on-location events or post photos.Everyone joins as a Basic Member, but may upgrade to a Full Member at any time if he or she wants to RSVP for events.
FULL MEMBER: May RSVP for events. $10.00 per calendar year dues for all privileges.(Receive e-mail flashes of news, ops, & deals; post photos & sell equipment; join discussions, our Facebook group, etc.) If you're serious about improving your photography and getting involved in our network, Full Member status is highly recommended. (Reasons for the small dues below.)
What makesus unique is that we're often very...CRE8TIVE.We do traditional photography, but also like to add twists to create new and original photo ops. Ex. King Kong Takes New Haven, Goddess of the Waterfall, etc.
OUR GOALS: 1) encourage members to take more photos 2) provide a nurturing & friendly environment for learning and growing at one's own pace 3) to offer a variety of events to reach as many people as possible 4) to inform members of learning opportunities & events.

FULL MEMBER $10 per calendar year each January. "Full Member" by your name. All privileges: RSVP for events; online photo challenges; posting photos in albums (commenting, feedback;) selling equipment, periodic newsletters; news flashes with special alerts about local events, speakers, courses, NECCC news, online tutorials; etc. If you seriously want to improve your photography, Full Membership is highly recommended.(Reasons for nominal dues below.)
BASIC MEMBER (Associate Member. No dues.) You prefer to be an "observer" of our group. Follow our group's activities on the website; view photo albums to learn; access "Members Only" files. At any time you may become a Full Member to RSVP for events and receive communications.
EVENTS: Our events are always lively due to a very friendly and knowledgeable membership. They embrace a very wide variety approaches: some general meetings, creative online challenges, speakers & presentations, local on-site events, (2) Facebook pages, Shutter-Buds Flickr group (coming soon) and road trips (Maine, NYC, NY, MA; planning Paris 2015.) Some of our themes are: HDR, urban, street photography, seasonal shoots, exposure & technique, viewing and discussing films on famous photographers, light painting, cool techniques, analyzing photos, portraits, ghosting, beginners workshop, composition, online challenges, making slide shows, mirror boxes, architecture, editing, photo art, road trips in and beyond CT, studio shoots with props/sets, bubbles, framing, Shutter-Buds exhibit, NECCC opportunities, B & W, landscapes, CanonUSA sponsored speakers (George Lepp, March 29,) and so much more! We always have about 25 or more upcoming events from which to choose and an online challenge or two in progress. AND we are always coming up with traditional and new creative events.

REASONS FOR THE MINIMAL DUES: Meetup dues, membership in the New England Council of Camera Clubs,o ther administrative costs,gas for scouting event locations, event props, model fees, banner, name tags, and as well as a small token compensation for the hundreds of hours of work of a very dedicated organizer who spends hundreds of hours researching events, planning, writing itineraries, maintaining the FB pages, answering members' e-mail, keeping an active presence on the website, and leading this very active group and offer great opportunities. We've had 112 events in less than 2 years!
