Come Submit a Comment at NC DENR's Triennial Water Quality Review!

Since 1972, the Federal Clean Water Act has helped to improve a number of our waterways and sources of drinking water nationwide. Unfortunately, the state of North Carolina is currently not meeting many of the required standards. Check out number 5 on the list of 2013's Endangered US rivers:

http://www.americanrivers.org/endangered-rivers/2013-report/

North Carolina is also the only state in the Southeast not to adopt the nationally recommended criteria for concentrations of heavy metals in our water. Heavy metals can occur naturally, but when introduced in mass amounts due to unchecked industrial waste, it affects our health and our environment.

This public forum provides a great opportunity for you the citizen to voice your concern on NC's water quality related issues. Thanks to all the Sierrans who came out and spoke up for water quality! The EPA and DENR took notice.
