Picacho Inventories Roadless Area dayhike

  • March 30, 2013 · 7:00 AM

This outing was originally scheduled in the Canyon Echo for April 6th. I am rescheduling this outing for March 30th (Saturday) due to a Sierra Club conflict.

This is a "C" rated outing with a round trip hiking distance of less than 8 miles and an elevation change of about 600 ft. We will hike along a closed off route that was illegally created in the 1980's by a rancher. Expect to have excellent views of the free flowing Salt River. This outing will take place in a Sonoran Desert setting. For reservations, meeting time and place please contact your leader, Jim Vaaler, at [masked] or phone Jim at (602) 553-8208.

Sorry I missed this, but there were already two other conflicts on my calendar. I don't think I would have wanted to attempt the drive . . .

A very beautiful place that I would not otherwise have been able to experience due to the primitive nature of the road in and out of it.

Great hike to a seldom seen area.

Friends of the hike, I have to cancel my attending this event due to an attack of allergies. Sorry!

Hi, is this an outing that will require food - should I bring my lunch? I don't know how long an 8 mile hike is time-wise. If anyone knows, that would be great.

      You should definitely bring lunch!

I really want to know what efforts I can make to clean up the terrible air quality in the Phoenix metro area. Frankly, the air is terrible, and I can see the haze and pollution every day. It is also making me feel sick. I do not want to move my life, but I am seriously thinking of leaving the valley because of the environment. If there is something I can do-please tell me.

The air is really bad lately with all the spring training tourists here kicking up a lot of dust and spewing out car fumes.

Can't wait! Will be field testing my new hiking poles.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
