Land development, and other human activities, have eliminated a large percentage of the mammals that dig holes used by Burrowing Owls. This has significantly impacted the owl population at a continental scale. Unfortunately, current land development can also trap the owls underground.
Wild At Heart has created a program that uses community outreach to identify owls at risk, remove them from the troubled area, and relocate them to artificial habitat. This program creates new habitat that conserves and supports the owl population across Arizona.
Greg Clark is the Burrowing Owl Habitat Coordinator for Wild At Heart. His presentation is about conservation of Burrowing Owls in Arizona.
As always, refreshments are free.
