Help give burrowing owls a second chance!

  • March 1, 2014 · 8:00 AM

Help give burrowing owls a second chance – out of the path of development!
We will be helping Wild at Heart, a volunteer organization dedicated to preservation of Arizona's native wildlife, build burrows for relocation of these owls. The project will focus on assembling acclimation tents for the owls. We will be working at a farm near Gila Bend. Carpooling from the Phoenix area is available. All tools are provided. Gloves will be available, but if you have a favorite pair of your own you may want to bring them along.
Learn more by watching a short video on burrowing owls and the relocation project.

Fabulous. Many volunteers showed up to contribute to a noble cause, building a new home for burrowing owls. 23 rescued owls released on new home site. Warm camaraderie among volunteers and exciting photo op when owls released.

Thank you to everyone who came out on a rainy day to help the burrowing owls! You did fantastic work. Thank you as well to Greg Clark and Wild at Heart for all they do for owls and other birds of prey. We had 20 volunteers.

Unless it is a significant downpour that lasts for awhile, we will go ahead with it. You may want to throw in a raincoat, just in case. If you have a cell phone number you can email me at [masked], I can call you if there are any changes.

Hi Sandy. I did not receive directions for this event. Please send. Thanks

Unfortunately, I have to work that day. Sorry to miss it.

It looks like Jason is willing to carpool from 40th and Pecos. If you live in the East Valley, that might be the better carpooling option. We will also be carpooling from the Chapter office in central Phoenix.
