Sierra Ancha Wilderness Trail Maintenance

  • May 17, 2014 · 5:45 AM

We will continue our work on Rim Trail # 139. Starting at 7,200' elevation, we will walk in about one and one half miles (not three miles as shown in the Canyon Echo) to the 6,600' level. The Rim Trail # 139 is a level trail and has great views to the south and east. The leader will talk about the recent fire history of this area as well as the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. The work will consist of sawing and removing dead trees from the trail as well as clearing brush as necessary. Participants need to bring their own gloves, lunch, and water. Tools will be provided by the leader. For more information please contact the leader, Jim Vaaler, at [masked] or you may call Jim at (602) 553-8208.

Hi, Jim. Looks like service trips are becoming a niche for me. Did my first water sentinels work last weekend.
