OCT 8 (MON) “C” Vulture Peak (4 mi RT, 1,000' EC) Wickenburg, AZ
The first 1.3 miles of the trail follows a pleasant path through a hilly desert floor area. The last 0.7 mile up to the saddle is a challenging almost non-stop uphill of 700 feet over a number rocky surfaces and high stepping parts. The planned route is to the saddle, which offers good views of the far northwest valley. Plans are open if some want to go the top. The final 240 feet from the saddle to the top of Vulture Peak is a steep non-maintained path that involves some hand-over-foot climbing. It offers 360 degree views of the far northwest valley.
