A hike organized by Renee Taylor:
A 1½ hour easy pace hike amid 137 acres along the Farmington River, with three ponds, lush open meadows and marshlands at Nod Brook Wildlife Management Area, Simsbury/Avon line, off Rte. 10.
Meet Sunday 7/14/13 10am at Nod Brook entrance off parking lot at Tower Business Park (Rte. 10/202, 86 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury). Look for red stone wall at road just south of the Agway store and north of Old Meadows Plains Road.
Please meet at the far right back of the office building parking lot. There’s an iron gate there to access the meadows that lead to the river. Do not drive down DEP dirt road to right that brings you immediately to the ponds.
This hike is organized for Sierra Club but all hikers are welcome to join us as long as they refrain from smoking and cell phone use on the trail.
Friendly dogs welcome but messes must be cleaned up. Please no smoking or cell phone use on the trail. Bring lunch to enjoy in shade by river.
