February Meeting &Botanical Gardens

Hope to see you at our monthly meeting this Thursday!     Sierra Club-Greater Hartford Group Monthly Meeting Westmoor Park, Flagg Rd., West Hartford Thursday Feb. 9th at 7:30 pm.     "The History and Changing Role of World Botanic Gardens" Dr. Richard Benfield, Professor of Geography, Central Connecticut State University. Dr. Benfield's current research focuses on the geography of floriculture and tourism as a conservation tool. He has traveled to botanic gardens in 115 countries. Recently he began research into the interaction of tourists, botanic reserves and some of the threatened great cats: the mythical snow leopard in India and the South American jaguar in Peru.   www.connecticut.sierraclub.org    Free and open to all. Doors open at 7:00 for refreshments and letter signing.
