BMHS Mission Preserve Three Peaks Hike

(11mi, 2800') Arrive at the Stanford Ave. entrance to Mission Preserve (http://g.co/maps/f3xgj) at 9:00am for a 9:15am start: Mission Preserve is extremely popular so it will take some time to find parking. If the lot is full, park on Stanford Ave. We will take the little used Horse Heaven trail to scale the three highest peaks of Mission Preserve: Monument peak, Mount Alison, and Mission Peak stopping for lunch along the way. Horse Heaven trail is extremely steep; this is not a beginners hike! You can find a trail map with the likely route here: http://files.meetup.com/1809828/Mission_Peak_map.pdf

Carpool will leave from the Charleston Park parking lot on Charleston Road across from Joaquin Rd. in Mountain View at 8:30. See http://g.co/maps/y2bab for location.

In case of rain, the hike will be shortened or moved to a more rain friendly location.

For those coming from 101 North, I'd recommend carpooling as parking at Stanford ave can be scarce. Directions from 101 to the carpool location are here: http://goo.gl/maps/j9lBY

Wish I had been notified earlier. Sounds great but am signed for a bike road trip the same day.
