Purisima Creek Redwoods to Lobitos Creek Hike

Hike length: ~12.5 miles

Elevation gain: ~ 3100 feet

Expected duration of hike: 6.5 hours

Hike description: This challenging hike begins at the southern trailhead on Skyline Blvd (about 2 miles south of the main parking area). We'll descend ~1400 feet through new-growth redwoods along the Purisima Creek Trail to the Borden Hatch Mill Trail. We will ascend the Borden Hatch Mill Trail to the Bald Knob, Irish Ridge, and Lobitos Creek trails, and have lunch before heading back by way to the Grabtown Gulch and Purisima Creek trails. There are some steep sections on this hike, and depending on how much rain there has been, the trials may be very muddy and generally wet.

sorry folks. I, and a friend, unknowingly went to the NORTH parking lot (which has a lot more than 10 spaces btw). We waited there until 9:30 and then went on hike anyway. Only on return did we discover that there was another parking lot. Sorry.

Hi Garth or Stephen, Is it possible to join for the hike even though all the spots are already filled up? I would also like to carpool at 8:40 a.m.: Lucky supermarket parking lot, 2175 Grant Rd., Los Altos. Thx!

I also have the same questions as well though I don't need to carpool. Is there a waiting list? Much appreciated!

Hi Albert. There is no wait list, but it is probable that not everyone who RSVPed will show up, so you could meet us at the trailhead. You may have to park on the side of the road though, as the parking lot is small. Carpooling is recommended. garth.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
