Beach and Bluffs Hike, 6 miles

Join Loma Prieta Sierra Singles for a hike from Pillar Point Harbor to Mavericks Beach and along the bluffs above Mavericks. Along the way we'll see surf, sand, seals, boats, birds and, hopefully, the sun! The hike will be about 6 miles with 200 feet of elevation gain.

Dogs on leash are welcome.Rain cancels.


Bring water, layers, sun protection and lunch -- or you can buy lunch at the harbor after the hike.

Meeting locations: 10 am -- Pillar Point Harbor. The leader will be wearing a turquoise jacket and waiting near the restrooms at the entrance to the pier.

Carpools should gather at:

9:15 am -- Lucky grocery store parking lot at Grant Rd. and Foothill Expressway, Los Altos. This is a self-carpool location (no leader).

9:30 am -- Edgewood Park 'N Ride Lot, northeast corner of Edgewood and 280. Coming South on 280 exit Edgewood Road. Stay in left lane of off ramp. Turn left at Edgewood. Go under freeway and turn left into Parking Lot. Coming North on 280 Exit Edgewood Road. Stay in right lane when exiting. Turn right onto Edgewood and be prepared to make an immediate (one care length) left into parking lot.

Please do not RSVP if you do NOT plan to attend and if you sign up and change your mind, please change your status to make space available for others.

    Since the hike is just mild and not too long and I can comfortably handle it, I can take some breaks to watch the beautiful scene.The beach and bluffs are just marvelous. The people on the hike are well educated and very comfortable to be with. Thanks for the organizer. Hope to see you all again.
