Co-listed with Sierra Club,Loma Prieta Chapter, Guadalupe Regional Group
Open to everyone. Join the Guadalupe Regional Group of the Loma Prieta Chapter of Sierra Club for a 2B hike at the Sanborn-Skyline County Park.
Hike details: 7 miles round-trip, about 1,200' elevation gain, 2B2
This is a moderate hike at an easy pace that starts with shaded elevation gain and ends with a lovely downhill mosey. Sanborn-Skyline's San Andreas-Sanborn trail, while a good workout, offers welcome relief from summer sun, and is the perfect summer hiking spot. The trail can be steep in places, but you'll be covered in a canopy of redwoods. Bring lunch, snacks, plenty of water, a hat, sunglasses, and wear hiking boots.
We will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Peterson Grove picnic area. Sanborn-Skyline County Park is west of Saratoga and south of San Jose. From Saratoga, go 2 miles west on Highway 9 to Sanborn Road. Turn left onto Sanborn Road and go about one mile to the park entrance (on the left). There is a parking fee of $6. Hike leaders: Lise Strom at[masked] and Linda Barbosa at[masked]-0185.
