Pescadero Creek Rd, Loma Mar, Ca
If you have always been curious about the Hiker's Hut in Sam McDonald Park make your reservation for one of two hikes to the hut, where Loma Prieta Sierra Singles will gather for hot cider, snacks and socializing followed by an optional 6 mile loop hike back to the parking lots.
Hike #1 is a 1.2 mile walk to the hut. Hike #2 is a 2.7 mile hike to the hut. Both hikes to the hut have approximately 600 ft. of elevation gain.
The loop hike from the Hiker's Hut back to the parking lots will be approximately 6 miles with 1600 ft. of elevation gain. Those who chose to explore the area around the hut instead or lounge on the deck will return to the parking lots on the same trail or one similar in length to the one they hiked in on.
What to bring: Finger food snacks to share, a cup for cider, water, layered clothing and sun protection, $$$ for carpools and parking fees (where applicable).
To attend: In addition to clicking "Yes" to RSVP you must send an email to co-leaders Jay De Wolf, [masked] OR Marilyn Stockdale Green, [masked] indicating which hike to the hut you want to go on. You will receive directions to the trailhead you've selected and information about carpool locations with your reservation confirmation.
Heavy rain cancels.
