Hike and Picnic at Wunderlich Park - about 5 miles

Join me for a hike and picnic at Wunderlich Park in Woodside, a hillside area of redwood forest, open meadows, and beautiful oaks and madrones. Lunch will be at Alambique Flat, about two miles from the trailhead. This is in the center of a redwood grove with a bench (for sitting) in the middle. The sound of a stream rushing by interrupts the silence but adds to the serenity of the setting. Bring your own lunch and a small ground cloth to sit on.

When we’re done, we’ll have hiked slightly under 5 miles. We’ll do this at a leisurely pace, but will have climbed less than 1,000 feet when we’re done, so this is not an easy hike but not a strenuous one either. There is limited parking at the trailhead on weekends, so try to carpool. Info on the park can be found at

Saturday, January 19th, 10:45 am.

Meet in the parking lot of the Woodside Elementary School NEXT TO THE TENNIS COURTS. From 280, take the Woodside Road exit, then Woodside Road going up hill to and through Woodside for 1.2 miles. The school will be on your left not too far after the firehouse. Turn into the parking lot right next to the tennis courts.

Leader: Sandra Winkler, [masked], cell [masked] on day of hike.
