So great to have all you people at my place last night. I am waiting to hear back from Diane on the ice accident and hope she is OK. Seems like exhalation from the concrete just froze into a thin patch. I'll get the place cleaned up in a week or two. I need yet more takers on food, and I realized I had a bundt cake that I didn't even get to put out. Thanks to Martin for another entertaining talk.

Hi David, Well it looks like I won't be skiing for a while, but I can still hike. I shattered the bones in my wrist and will find out more when I see the orthopedic doctor tomorrow. When I am healed we will all have to do a snow dance for some spring skiing. :)

Diane, That is really a bummer. I have led Sierra Club hikes for 20 years with no worse than a sprained thumb, and now it's a freak accident on my driveway! I feel so badly for you. Are you covered by insurance? I will talk to my home insurance agent tomorrow to see what might be covered. -- David

Wonderful, the limit of 20 signed up now. PLEASE, if you decide not to come, change your RSVP as we have people on a waitlist. The winter solstice quiz is ready. A nice gift awaits the person who gets the most correct at the party.

For those that can't be with us due to the limit of 20 or otherwise, I am sure Martin would do this presentation at another future time and place, TBA.

We missed the first one and would love to see this presentation. I finished the PCT in 2009 and we are also trail maintainers of the PCT. Pat and Dan Wormington

Hey folks, this looks great as 17 are signed up as of today (Monday). I am looking forward to seeing you all Saturday at my place. There will be a solstice quiz, so brush up on your astronomy and planetary science.

Will there be beer cans to demonstrate our solar system? Guess that I could volunteer to empty them.

I will be happy to supply & empty as well!

Could somebody video record it and put it on Youtube? I plan on doing the AT come March 2019.....Thru-Hiking with the Warrior Hikers.

Martin, I am so glad that you and David are doing this. I had a conflict with your first presentation.

David, my husband Jerry would really like to come, as I told him how much I enjoyed Martin's talk before. But he doesn't do internet much, so isn't on meetup, and I can't figure out how to include him as a guest, so can you count me as two please! It would be appreciated!

Martin will recount his trek up the Appalachian Trail in 2013. This is not the Pacific Crest Trail, and so hear why it's more arduous and challenging.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
