Easy River Walk

Location to Meet:  corner of Washington and Riverside:

Take: I80 West, exit 12 (Keystone) and go left, go left on W 1st, take the third right onto Washington.  Park at the end of the street.

Time: 5:30, leaving at 5:45 pm

Distance is approx. 4 miles round trip on a paved path.

Rating: Easy

Join us for this every Monday warm-up hike.  It is easy and on a paved path.  Bring your dinner and we will stop at the halfway mark, in a park with picnic benches (Crissie Caughlin) and restrooms (I called parks and recreation and hopefully they will be open this week) to have our dinner.  Then we will hike back. Bring hat and gloves and jacket.  It may get cool toward the evening.

Dogs who will walk on leashes okay, children, strollers, grannies in wheelchairs and/or wearing tennis shoes okay. Bring plenty of water and we will probably be returning after dark.  This is an easy stroll and a good warm-up walk/social for your week.

If you wish to donate one dollar (which is used toward offsetting the expenses of First Aid/CPR training for our Sierra Club hike leaders) it would be much appreciated.

See you there for fun and friendship!

Oh yeah, one more thing. The dinner pavilion has a cover, but the benches may get cold. So, it is advisable to bring a little seat pad or pillow :O).

Weather report says it will "feel" like 37 to 31 with 60% chance of rain. So, dress VERY warmly and full raingear is a must. Please leave your dogs at home as they may be wet and shivering provided it does rain or snow.

I'll be bringing my dog since we'll be coming straight from her Vet appointment. But, she'll only walk a small distance since she's paralyzed, and I'll put her in the sling carrier the rest of the time. We go on lots of walk that way.
