On Thursday, May 15th, we will do a 4 mile hike in Lagomarsino Canyon east of Sparks, and we will meet there at 5:30. To reach the trailhead, take I-80 east thru Sparks, 3 miles past the Vista exit to Exit 22 at Lockwood. Go 3 miles south thru Lockwood where we will meet at the last narrow bridge, and please watch your speed limit on the well-patrolled sections of road near Lockwood. This will be a moderate slightly uphill climb on roads and single track trail thru a beautiful red rock canyon, where we will see some historical ruins, wildflowers, and wild horses. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, layers, poles will be helpful, and since ticks have been common out in this area, it is best to dress in long sleeves and pants. This is a Sierra Club hike, so we will ask you to sign our liability waiver and also donate $1 to help cover CPR and First Aid training for our leaders. This is a special hike in an area not frequented by many hikers, so we hope to see you this Thurs. night.
